Colorado Avalanche vs. Winnipeg Jets Highlights - FINAL: Avalanche (1) Jets (4)
Great win for the Jets beating the Avs whom were on a winning streak at home. Jets looked fresh from some rest in Winnipeg...and it showed.
Kane scored 2 goals and Pavelec was close to another shutout.
Winnipeg hits 8th in the East!

Winnipeg Jets vs. Montreal Canadiens Highlights - FINAL: Jets (4) Canadiens (0)
The Jets easily took advantage of the Canadiens' issues as of late with a solid win!
This was the 9th career shutout for Ondrej Pavelec (3rd of the season).
#WheelerOfFortune w/ the honourable mention as well...

Winnipeg Jets vs. New York Islanders Highlights - FINAL: Jets (2) Islanders (3) SO
Jets lose in a shootout against the Islanders. This was a bad loss for the Jets considering that the Jets could have really used the boost in the standings - a win would have put them in a 3-way tie for 7th place in the East (w/ Toronto and Ottawa).

Winnipeg Jets vs. Anaheim Ducks Highlights - FINAL: Jets (5) Ducks (3)
Teemu Selanne was credited two assists in a game against the Jets that was his first in Winnipeg in over 15 years. He almost scored a goal with around 3 minutes left in the game. Jets fans would have cheered for it and the Jets would've (still) squeaked out the win as well (with a goal to spare).
It was a great night for Jets fans!

Winnipeg Jets vs. Minnesota Wild Highlights - FINAL: Jets (2) Wild (1)
So, what does it make the Jets when they beat the best team in the league?
Not too bad at all...

Winnipeg Jets vs. Boston Bruins Highlights - FINAL: Jets (2) Bruins (1)
Yet another nail-biting ending with the Bruins being served their first loss since October. Bruins were w/o Seguin ( >> Alarmgate?! << ) and Thomas sat out...but a win is a win.
Besides, the Jets are missing a few key players as well. This team is a contender and has (once again) come up big against one of the better teams in the NHL.

Winnipeg Jets vs. Phoenix Coyotes Highlights - FINAL: Jets (1) Coyotes (0)
Well, for a low-scoring game, this one was entertaining as Hell! The Winnipeg Jets were on display with some impressive passing (Little and Wellwood come to mind). The game was a candidate for the most memorable Jets game of the year, thus far. (Yes, the high-scoring Philly game is a tough one to forget as well!)
Everyone knows that Winnipeg fans were chomping at the bit to host the Yotes and the game at MTS Centre failed to disappoint!
The booing was unrelenting (when the Yotes had the puck)...and some might say, in bad taste. I think it was just another opportunity for the Winnipeg fans to vent their frustration that had accrued over the past 15 years.
You don't see a standing ovation and booing for the same player (within minutes) too often, do you!? Not sure what to make of the #DoanEffect.
Were some of the fans just drunk/young/having (negative-based) fun?
Sure.
Did the booing help?
It's hard to argue that it didn't...
>> @DangerousHockey << (a noted Atheist) pointed out that the Hockey Gods were obviously present at the MTS Centre to assist Pavelec with the #PhantomSave late in the 3rd.
Would the puck have gone in without the mysterious bounce? I don't think so: Ondrej was playing great and was "there" for this play. He seemed to wildly miss the puck only because of the strange bounce. Regardless, most Jets fans are likely quite relieved to (only) have to contemplate this thought in a hypothetical manner...whew!
"Everyone knows that Hockey Gods exist," says (stone-faced) Rocco of >> www.DangerousHockey.com <<
(His in-laws are happy to hear that he is finally acknowledging a higher power.)

GAME 25: PHOENIX COYOTES @ WINNIPEG JETS 1/12/11
Claude Noel speaks to the media prior to Thursday night's game against the Coyotes
Coyotes captain Shane Doan talks about returning to Winnipeg to face the Jets.
Coyotes head coach Dave Tippett talks about visiting Winnipeg for the first time.
I have to say...I still hold a grudge against the AZ fans/media that couldn't see the GWI logic beyond their own bias... BUT...
Maybe I am naive, but I like the attitude of Doan and Tippet in these interviews. I realize that they have to promote a certain image, but I actually believe everything that was said here...including that Doan still has a soft spot for Winnipeg, however small it may be.
There are important bragging rights on the line tonight...hope the Jets do what we all know that they are capable of!
