Former Winnipeg Jet, Kris Draper retires from the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings at the age of 40!

Drafted 62nd overall in the 1989 Draft by the Winnipeg Jets, Draper did not see much NHL action in his early years.

After Detroit infamously acquired Kris for the grand total of $1.00 from the Winnipeg Jets in June of '93, Draper would go on to find great success in the NHL! He would win 4 Stanley Cups (1997, 1998, 2002, 2008), captured the 2004 Selke as the NHL's top defensive forward, was named an Alternate Captain for the Red Wings during the 2006–07 season and topped 1,000 games in a Wings uniform.

He was selected to play for Team Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics and also represented Canada at:

World Championships

Gold 2003 Finland
Silver 2005 Austria

World Cup of Hockey
Gold 2004 Canada

World Junior Championships
Gold 1990 Finland
Gold 1991 Canada

Congratulations on a GREAT Career!
